Driving to Marlboro
Address for GPS: 2582 South Road, Marlboro, Vermont 05344
(Destination should read Marlboro Campus, Potash Hill, or something similar.)
From I-91, the best approach is via Route 9 and South Road. Sometimes, however, GPS thinks otherwise. In inclement weather, do not follow GPS routing if it tells you to take Town Hill Road, Ames Hill Road, or Moss Hollow Road. Those are all dirt roads, and while they are each well-maintained, it’s better to stick to the pavement if you aren’t familiar with them, especially in bad weather. Stick with the major roads: take Route 9 from Brattleboro or Wilmington, turn onto South Rd, and proceed 3 miles to the campus.
We recommend downloading the campus address into your GPS before you leave the airport, as cell service can be spotty on some mountain roads.
Airports to fly into
Option 1: Bradley International Airport (BDL)
Hartford, CT • Approximately 85 miles south of Marlboro • Drive time: ~1.5 hours
Option 2: Logan International Airport (BOS)
Boston, MA • Approximately 117 miles southeast of Marlboro • Drive time: ~2 hours
All major rental car agencies are available on-site at either airport. If you rent a car, consider using the ride board (below) to share rides with others.
Airport shuttles to/from Marlboro
Thomas Transportation offers door to door transportation by prearrangement from both Bradley and Logan airports. CCNE will hire vans from them for this purpose, leaving the airport in time to be in Marlboro for orientation, so long as enough riders commit to this option far enough in advance. Here are the costs:
- Van to/from Bradley airport is $60 per person with a minimum 5 people.
- Van to/from Logan airport is $70 per person with a minimum 5 people.
Follow this link to reserve your spot in a shuttle. We’ll invoice you when we have enough people to rent a van.
Ride Boards
If an airport shuttle or other option won’t work for you and you’d like to try finding another camper to share a car with you, follow the ride board link below. Use the tabs at the bottom of the Google Sheet to toggle between different ride boards.
Coming by train or bus
Train: Amtrak Vermonter
You can take the Amtrak Vermonter from many locations south of VT, and it stops in Brattleboro, about 10 miles from Marlboro. Note, however — it runs only once per day! The Vermonter also stops at Windsor Locks station, just 3 miles from Bradley Airport. Those flying into Bradley (in time) should be able to take the CTtransit Route 24 bus from Terminal A (Door 6) to Windsor Locks station — it runs every 20 minutes — and catch the train from there.
Bus
We encourage you to research bus options to Brattleboro yourself, as they change from time to time. But, for example, if you fly into Bradley, you can take the CTtransit Bradley Flyer (bus) from the airport to Hartford. Greyhound runs from Hartford Union Station to Brattleboro.
