There are a number of default limits placed on your very first post on The Choro Forum. These are designed to protect us all from spam, which ranges from annoying to malicious. For example, attachments with these file extentions may not be allowed in your first post:
pdf|doc|docx|txt|htm|html|rtf|xml|xls|xlsx|zip|rar|tar|gz|bzip|7z
I suggest you make your first post a simple response to what someone else has posted. After that, your posts will no longer be subject to such limits.
Happy to have joined this forum. Any pianists here?
I'd like to have a better idea of how best to play choro on piano, particularly how to approach accompaniment figures. Who would you recommend listening to ? Hercules Gomes is amazing, but can also be a bit intimidating for the aspiring choro pianist. Who else should I check out?
Best,
Simon
Hi Simon:
If you scroll down a bit, you'll see we've set up an area of the forum for keyboard & accordion players. You might want to post there as well. The question you're asking is a well-trodden path, so I'm sure there are folks out there who would be happy to help. I hope the Choro Forum makes it easier for you to connect with them.

Hello,
Andrea Douglass here. Just joining. Hoping for some rodas in the Boston area soon.
Hi Andrea ... welcome!
Are you already in touch with some of the Boston area folks who organize classes and rodas in the Boston area? Catherine Bent, Roberto Fischer and Tom Stewart all have good mailing lists you'll want to be on. If you don't already know them, write me at [email protected] and I'll put you in touch.

PS -- Putting yourself on The Choro Map is a great way to make your interest know, too!
Hi Andrew,
I just registered on this forum. I also filled the map form. Thank you for all you do!

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for standing up this incredible resource! CCNE was both amazing and pretty overwhelming. I'm still digesting a lot of the information, but already looking forward to next year.
Thanks for all you do for spreading the love of choro and Brazilian music!
Best,
