Raul de Barros' album "Brasil, Trombone" opened with his most popular composition, now a standard at rodas de choro, "Na Gloria". Track 2 was the best-known tune of another trombonist, Astor Silva, "Chorinho de gafieira".
In the words of Samuca Muniz, who prepared this sparse and (IMHO) excellent accompaniment:
"The idea behind these playbacks is to give the musician total freedom to explore their creativity. That's why the 6-string guitar was recorded in a more succinct way, without the obligatory basses commonly found in choro and the like."
I use it to practice accompaniment of cavaquinho, as well as soloing. Very helpful.
